sermon series…wake up!`

wednesday night we dived into part 2 o f aseries we call “wake up”  here is a few highlights copied from the message…

spiritual sleepers…
a. some fall asleep-
b. some are put to sleep- they are basically bored!
c. Some people can sleep almost anywhere!

so what can I do to energize my life?
1. be alert – able to think clearly; intellectually active
people fall asleep due to lack of activity

I peter 5:8 Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour 9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith

Be alert – be vigilant, wake, (be) watch (-ful).

There is one thing you can control – your own activity!
Your level of activity will show your level of alertness.

so what can I do to energize my life?
2. get some rest!

Some fall asleep due to a lack of rest!

Matthew 11:28 “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. 29 Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. 30 Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

If you don’t get rest you will get tired, grow weary and eventually be exhausted!

rest -, – to rest one’s case conclude one’s presentation of evidence and arguments in a lawsuit.

The case about who our god is and what he has done is closed!

case closed – nothing can take the place of GOD!

be alert and get some rest so you can be productive and effective to the kingdom!

this was a fun night…closed around the altars!
