God fills what’s empty….what are you full of?

Scripture:
When Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the temple. And the priests could not enter the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD’s house. When all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD on the temple, they bowed their faces to the ground on the pavement, and worshiped and praised the LORD, saying: “For He is good, For His mercy endures forever.” (‭II Chronicles‬ ‭7‬:‭1-3‬ NKJV)

Observation:
Solomon built a temple…dedicates the temple and then the Glory was so thick that the priests could not enter and the people fell on their faces.   The response of God is He fills the temple.  God continually chooses to fill what is empty and dedicated to him.  The response of the people was to bow and worship!  A prostrated heart and life in response to what God fills!

Application:
We want God to fill the temple, but what’s is our response?   Response is everything…if the people had failed to respond and recognize the presence of God…nothing would have come of this.  It is our choice to respond to him or not respond to him.  Our body and life is now the temple that God wants to fill.  We need to dedicate our lives to Him, worship Him, respond to His goodness and mercy.  Our life’s response will show what we are truly full of.

Prayer:
Lord…may we be continually filled with more of you.  May your presence and power captivate our hearts and lives in a way that we run to you and respond rather than stand idly by while you fill others.  We need your filling…   We need your power…  But most of all we need you!

God fill us with your Glory!!!

Check your desires at the door.

But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way. (‭I Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭31‬ NKJV)

Desire…many times we desire the supernatural. We desire to be used in greater ways.  But, when we follow the way of LOVE, it never becomes about us.  Love shifts the direction and focus off of self. Love is not about self promotion but about self-sacrifice. Check your desires when it comes to being used by God.

We need to check our desires and passions at the door.  It’s perfectly ok to seek the best gifts…the Bible says to do it, but we must seek them with the desire of love to be at the center. If Jesus is at the center, and love is the motivation, then the best gifts will be used in a more excellent way. You can’t go wrong desiring to love people thru a supernatural God!

Lord help me to always check my desires at the door and make love the focus of all we do.
