“For you, O Lord, have made me glad through Your work; I will sing joyfully at the works of Your hands.”
Psalms 92:4 MEV
“You thrill me, LORD, with all you have done for me! I sing for joy because of what you have done.”
Psalms 92:4 NLT
We have a reason to be amazed! God is GREATER! I have JOY not because of my condition, I have JOY because of all that He has done for me. Grace provided a way for me to encounter life, and simply living is enough to have real JOY, not conditional JOY!
God never ceases to amaze us in all he has done and continues to do in us. I am astounded and amazed at the grace and mercy of God. I see my family and the work I get to do and I am so amazed at what God is doing. Go ahead, smile! Let the stress of life fade away in light of the greatness of Your God. He has done great things! So sing a new song and allow JOY to impact your situation regardless of your condition!
Lord help me to never lose the joy of your salvation, help me to never lose my sight of what you are truly doing. You are up to some great things in my life. You have done some amazing things and Real Joy is found in Real life and that is in YOU!
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
We live in such an entitled world that looks after #1 first and foremost. We have taught our kids to say Thank You… It’s an annoying thing to do nice things for people and never hear the word Thanks… Paul in 1 Thessalonians gives some final advice to the church. I love his candor in the letter to the church. In verse 12 he says to never forget those the lead in the church…then he gives advice on how to respond to those that do you wrong. Finally, he tells them to rejoice always, pray continually and give thanks in all circumstances. Oh, and this is the will of God for you!
The encouragement for today is simple. God’s will is for you to be joyful, pray and be thankful. It’s a lot easier to give thanks when you are joyful and praying! It’s a lot harder to be thankful when you are disgruntled and talking to people about your issues rather than bringing them to God. Today…go ahead…choose a lifestyle of Thanks! Choose to be joyful always! Choose to give thanks! He never said you would have it all together or you would bot have conflict he simply gave advice in the middle of conflict to take the high road. The high road is one of joy and thanks.
Lets take the advice of Paul today and live in the will of God. Live a lifestyle of thanks!
