Mishandling the presence of God…

Are are we mishandling the presence of God in our weekend expericnces? IMG_1709

“But do this to them, that they may live and not die, when they approach the most holy things. Aaron and his sons will go in, and appoint each one to his service and to his burden. But they will not go in to see when the holy things are covered, lest they die.”
‭‭Numbers‬ ‭4:19-20‬ ‭MEV‬‬

The presence of God was not handled carelessly.  Whenever they were to love the tabernacle, they were given direction as to how to handle the holy things.  They were to cover the holy articles and then the Kohathites were to not go in and see it uncovered, but rather wait until the priests set it up to be carried.  Aaron’s sons would handle the holy things and then they would come in and carry it.  The priests were to handle it and the people were to carry it out.

How often do we mishandle the presence of God? Or better yet, we get so comfortable with Gods presence that we don’t take greater care at handling it, or putting his presence at the center so the people can carry it out of the service.  So many times we are concerned with them carrying an announcement out, or carrying a program out, or even carrying out our message.  Why not take greater care or intentionality in helping the people carry the presence of God out. Make Jesus the center of it all.  If a few people died because they mishandled the presence of God, then we would take greater care of the transfer.  The truth is…people are dying.  They are leaving our service not with life, but rather death…they are carrying out things and not the presence!

Lord help us to carry your presence and as a leader, help us to set up our own experi need that when people walk out, they walk out carrying the presence of God. Help us to make Jesus the center of all we do!

He prepared this place for you…

Where you are right now matters. The very place you are in life right now as you read these words matters! You may not like the place you are and then again you may love the place you are. Regardless of how you feel about the place, it does not change the fact that God has prepared this place for you! 1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” God has prepared in advance before you ever arrived where you the very place you reside. If we can frame our thoughts on the very fact that God has prepared this place for me, then we can ultimately grasp the fact that where we are has meaning and purpose. Where I am right now, is preparing me for what’s next. In Genesis 1 we see that God created the heavens and the earth before he created man. This may help us understand that places matter to God!

Hear this clearly…God has prepared where you are right now in advance. How are you going to respond to where you are right now? You wont be able to see what God has prepared for you next, unless you can see that where you are is a setup for what’s next. Your response to where you are is shaped by 2 powerful, yet simple truths. What you hear and what you see will ultimately shape how you respond. Too often we see where others are and hear what others have and we fail to see with the eyes of faith and hear where God has prepared for us. We all respond in life to what we see and what we hear. Why not choose to see what God sees. Stop looking at where you are not and see where you are. Choose to see with the eyes of faith and respond to a God that is speaking to you. The will of God is not hidden from you it’s revealed in you. (1 Corinthians 2:10) If you see what God sees and hear what He is saying to you, then maybe, just maybe you can discover the perfect will that God has set aside for you! He has a place prepared in advance just for you.

If something is prepared, then basically it means it’s ready! It’s waiting for you! What’s next for your life has already been prepared. Stop focusing on where you are and focus on what God is using where you are to take you to what’s next. There is a specific reason and a purpose set aside by God for this moment! So, ask yourself a few questions. What do I need to be doing right now that will ultimately prepare me for what’s next? What meetings am I having that God set up to shape my destiny? What am I learning right now that will prepare me for what’s next? What’s next is already waiting for you!

God has something unique prepared for you…
